Unlike other essay forms, it is totally okay—even expected—to use first-person narration in narrative essays.If you’re writing a story about yourself, it’s natural to refer to yourself within the essay.
It allows the author to satirize/comment on society, for example The Chrysalids or Woman on the Edge of Society.
In the latter, the author places with the notion of males having children, the world going back to a simple agricultural life instead of the materialistic one that consumes us today.
There is 1st person, where the narrator tells the story from their point of view, and usually the story is about them However, the 1st person narrative can also be applied to a direct POV, where the narrator participates in the story, or an indirect POV, where the narrator is just an outsider. Most often the narrator will follow the PLOT format incorporating a fictional element as a means to embellish the story line.
Sensory details or spatial order are used as a means of getting the reader more involved in the actual story. The message of the story or the point to the story is usually expressed in the opening sentence. Plot is 1) exposition - setting, main characters, time and place 2) Rising Action - details about the main characters 3) Conflict - the source of tension between the protagonist and the antagonis 4) Climax - the conflict is resolved though may not be resolved in a posititve outcome 5) Resolution or Denouement - bring closure to the story Science Fiction is a vehicle for the author to explore and test the rules, value system of society.
