All students will be following the creative curriculum course and all students will have the opportunity to be entered for the Junior sports leadership Award (JSLA).
The Creative Curriculum (Finham’s own course) is a structured, but flexible one year course that the PE department has put together to give students all round knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of sport, as well as having the opportunity of passing the Junior sports Leadership course.
Our Student sports council have given specific sporting examples how each of these are used: All students have 2 x 1 hour PE lessons per week. There is no firm policy on streaming groups by ability; instead each cohort is looked at for its particular needs.
Students receive 7 blocks (different sporting activities) throughout the year. Students have opportunity to learn and compete in invasion, aesthetic, rackets, adventurous/ problem based activities and fitness/ athletic activities All Key Stage 4 students have two hours a week of core PE time (year 10: 1 x 120 minute lesson & year 11: 2 x 60minute lesson).
